Comedian wins Celebrity Blackjack Series
Comedian and actress Caroline Rhea demonstrated her best skills to win GSN’s Celebrity Blackjack series. Rhea managed to grab $100,000 grand prize, which she donated for her charities Project A.L.S. and Much Love Animal Rescue.
Casinocitytimes.com reported that Rhea’s play was full of clever quips. Rhea held a commanding lead early in the game and held onto that advantage throughout the 30-hands of play. She became the winner in the series for the second season of 13 new episodes by GSN. The new season is scheduled to air in October with 40 stars participating and $1 million being donated to charity.
The six-episode series featured 25 celebrities including Snoop Dogg, Jason Alexander, Camryn Manheim and Andy Dick. Shannon Elizabeth, Dean Cain, Caroline Rhea, Ben Stein and Billy Baldwin managed to advance to the sixth and final episode.
Each player received $10,000 for their charity and the winner of each game earned $25,000 and the chance to make it $100,000 if they won in the final round.
GSN, the Network for Games, which organized the event, is the only U.S. television network involved in game-related programming and interactive game playing. The company features 84 hours per week of interactive programming, which allows viewers to participate in GSN’s televised games via a devoted website. The network is jointly owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment and Liberty Media Corporation.
